KERNELBASE.dll error when starting a C # application in Windows Server 2008 R2?

I have a .NET 3.5 executable compiled with "Any CPU", and when I try to run it on Windows Server 2008 x64 R2 - it gives me:

Faulting application name: mcb.exe, version: 0.1.0.8, time stamp: 0x4e08e871 Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdfe0

Has anyone else encountered / solved this problem?

I suspect DLLImports is that it does not even make it primary () - I should also add that this works fine on non-R2 Win Server 2008 x64

EDIT : Nevermind - importing dll is not the cause of the problem - I commented on this and tried, the same behavior happened. Rename the question.

EDIT II . This kernel dll database error seems to be pretty common, but I cannot find the reason.

Full error for the request:

Faulting application name: mcb.exe, version: 0.1.0.8, time stamp: 0x4e08eb21 Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdfe0 Exception code: 0xe0434f4d Fault offset: 0x000000000000aa7d Faulting process id: 0x%9 Faulting application start time: 0x%10 Faulting application path: %11 Faulting module path: %12 Report Id: %13

I canโ€™t install the debugger on time and I canโ€™t install VS on the machine with the error: - (

Here is windbg's conclusion, I'm afraid this is just gibberish for me ... I don't know if anyone can figure this out.

It seems that when I run the โ€œanalysisโ€, the file with the money error

 EXCEPTION_MESSAGE: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a MANAGED_OBJECT_NAME: System.IO.FileNotFoundException MANAGED_STACK_COMMAND: !pe 24b6010

But I do not understand how this can be - .NET 3.5 is installed!

I'm an idiot - I needed to enable the .NET Framework 3.5.1 features in the Features panel for Win2008 R2 x64. I think at least I learned a little about windbg ...

Exception 0xE0434F4D is an unhandled CLR exception. Most likely, KERNELBASE stuff was just a library function to raise an exception - RtlRaiseException or similar. You need to either catch an exception in your CLR code, create a crash dump, or attach a debugger (like windbg) to get the details, like a stack trace. This MSDN blog post has an example of using windbg to diagnose a CLR failure.

I just ran into this problem in the windows form application that I created. Apparently, there are many problems that can cause this. In my case, you can open the Task Manager, click on the application, open it in the task manager and close it immediately. The only way to find out what the problem is is to look at the event viewer and find the error.

I had a method running in the Program.cs constructor, which is the first one created when the Windows application was launched. I had a bug in the code that threw an exception before any exception handling was created . To fix the problem, I moved the code to a point after creating the raw exception method as such:

AppDomain.CurrentDomain.UnhandledException += new UnhandledExceptionEventHandler(CurrentDomain_UnhandledException);

in my form constructor. Now the program will start and actually cause an error. Then I just had to fix the error in my code.

I hope this can help you or someone else.

I had a program in vb running on four machines, but one. After remote debugging, I found that I had a DataGridView showing different columns on different machines. One column was spelled incorrectly for this machine. This caused the above error.
