How can I see the code for nib / xib files?

Is it possible for us to see the source code generated outside of the xib / nib files (I know that these are xml files)? I heard about NIBTOOL, but I believe that it is no longer available or is not replaced by any other tool that I can not find. Does anyone know about this?
