Can I use the OpenMP library with Android NDK?
Perhaps someone has already tried to compile them together and can give some clues?
With the advent of dual-core tablets / smartphones, I think it would be nice to use OpenMP features in application development.
Thanks in advance.
Now people are faced with this question: OpenMP is supported in the NDK with GCC as of October 2013 (NDK version 9b). See: https://developer.android.com/ndk/downloads/revision_history.html
where they explain to add:
LOCAL_CFLAGS += -fopenmp LOCAL_LDFLAGS += -fopenmp
on your Android.mk to enable OpenMP support.
As discussed here , OpenMP ist is not yet supported.
The community patch is quite possible for this, and as mentioned in the discussion, it mainly needs modifications for gcc / libgomp.
