Record audio files in a mobile safari from a microphone

I did quite a search. I know that there are many PhoneGap solutions that allow people to record audio from a microphone. But what I'm looking for is a solid and simple example of how to record audio using Mobile Safari from a custom microphone.

Are there any examples? HTML5 introduces HTML developments.

Now you can - with iOS6 - access the camera. Just use

<input type="file" capture="camera" accept="image/*" id="takePictureField">

Apple does not display a microphone or camera in a mobile browser, but they provide location-based services and motion detection (ios 4.2 and later).
