Enterprise Architect - How to make (very simple) chart usage example

I was asked to prepare a usage diagram for a project in Enterprise Architect. Since I have very little EA experience, I am extremely disappointed. Nothing seems to work as you would expect it. My tactic is to try everything, click here, click there, read another shitty tutorial telling you about UML, not EA, click everywhere and see what happens. Yes, I tried using links on my page and in EA.

The worst part is that all I’m trying to do is EA overlay the New Chart dialogs. He continues to do this regardless of my answer. I really want to learn how to use EA.

What I'm probably looking for is the tutorial “Make EA Use-case Diagram for Dummies,” showing me what to click, etc. Do you know anything?

Sparx Systems has a set of demo videos on its website, and one of them is simply a demonstration of the "Basic Use Case". The video has no sound, but it shows how quickly and easily create a new use case with its Quick linker tool.

He has some assumptions: 1. How to get a new diagram of use cases up (however, it seems from your OP that you have achieved this) 2. There is already an actor on the diagram. (To get one of them, click the chart background and press the spacebar to open the item context menu and select an actor) 3. This Basic example of the use of the example should be to the end.

A list of all the demos available on the Sparx Systems website can be found here.

I hope this helps

If anyone else comes to this point (as I was this week), you can find the Quick Start Guide from Pathfinder Solutions very convenient ( http://pathfindersolns.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Quick -Start-Guide-Enterprise.pdf ) It will simply walk you through the steps to create a small model without explaining why, how exactly.

It really helped me get a general idea of processing in EA.
