Development environment for google-chrome-extension

I am currently encoding my google-chrome extensions using a combination of notepad and chrome console. I am 100% sure that there is a better way to program these extensions. What environment is used by people?

Preferred IDEs (like NetBeans) and Google Chrome (you need to check something, right?).

I am using Notepad ++, which works great.

You might want to try the firewall> to create cross-browser extensions. So far, I have found experience with Chrome.

You might want to check:

  • NetBean 7.0 (they have a great version for web development, which allows you to write HTML, CSS and JS with all the great flash drives / highlights / full code).

  • Eclipse has received an excellent version for web developers (PDT and others).

  • Notepad ++, UltraEdit, TextPad or any other good editor you like.

As for debug mode, profile and test - you have a tool for developers in Chrome, which is different. You might want to check out this short video that will give a lot of useful tips: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOEw9iiopwI

Good luck
