Is it possible to use System.Data.OracleClient even if it is deprecated?

I have been using System.Data.OracleClient for a while, and I'm not sure if I will continue to use it if it is deprecated?

Although all my pages will work under .Net 4, I am worried that when there is a new structure, all pages may stop working.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Using this is still fine, but what is the future of the application? Do you plan to use and maintain the application for many years to come? If so, you should upgrade to ODP.net to receive updates and new features.

Microsoft's recommendation is that you discover a third-party client such as ODP.NET .

Types in System.Data.OracleClient are deprecated. Types are supported in version 4.NET Framework, but will be removed in a future version. Microsoft recommends using a third-party Oracle provider.

Using Oracle DLLs has always performed better (faster) for me. Although System.Data.OracleClient will remain in VS, I do not understand why you do not want to use the Oracle DLL.
