Is ASE mature enough to start developing applications for Android?

I am looking at the Android scripting environment, it looks pretty promising. But is a viable option to make a product application? It looks like the client will have to download the ASE and then run the script from the environment itself.

Given the lack of answers, I publish this more as a blow and a discussion than a complete answer. I believe that SL4A can be good enough for small scripts, but not yet for full-blown update applications on the market . Just by looking at the discussion group page for the last couple of months ( link here ), it looks like the API is still pretty active. I gave some examples below:

If you have a great script that you want to quickly connect to SL4A, take a picture. But I would not replace java SL4A at least until the official release.
