QuickText in Notepad ++ does not save code fragments!

I installed notepad ++ on Windows7. I installed QuickText in notepad ++. I add my custom snippets to QuickText, and while notepad is open, the snippets work fine. As soon as I close the notebook and open it again, the fragments will disappear. Has anyone else had this problem, should it be easy to fix? They do not persist or stick.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Any ideas?

Didn't use Quicktext, but it looks like it is no longer being developed.

From what I can say, FingerText seems to be and hopefully should be able to do what you are after.

The full answer is a combination of Nick and Jerod’s answers.

If you create the Config folder in the folder C: \ Program Files \ Notepad ++ \ plugins \ (or C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Notepad ++ \ plugins \ if you installed it in this folder), then put QuickText .ini in this folder, you will notice that there are a lot of "snippings" by default.

Now, to save your snippets, if you are in Windows 7 or Vista (which will be saved in the QuickText.ini file), you must run Notepad ++ as an administrator.

As a side note, snippits files are perfectly saved on Linux if you install Notepad ++ through Wine.

This issue is caused by administrator privileges. You need to run notepad ++ as an administrator or it will fail.

Copy QuickText.ini to the folder c:\Program Files\Notepad++\plugins\Config\ (I created this folder myself)

Sorry for my bad english. Your problem is inslall . Correct installation:

  • Copy all files to the plugins folder except one ( quicktext.ini ).
  • In this directory, create a new config folder.
  • Copy quicktext.ini to it.

After such an installation, the fragments work correctly.
