What is the preferred old browser and the shortest screen size for a mobile website for testing, and which has an Internet tool and is still in use?

What is the oldest browser and shortest screen size for mobile devices that has an Internet tool and is still in use?

I am making a mobile site for older devices (not smartphones) that are still in use.

I am testing Nokia 5130 Xpress Music mobile , which is 240 x 320 pixels in size, and the browser is Opera Mini (I donโ€™t know the version).

Is it enough to test these days, or should I check for a lower size than this and less capable browser than this?

Any suggestion?

Edit: Like on the desktop, we do not consider screen sizes below 1024 X 768 px, and we started not to consider IE6, Firefox 2 and 3.0, etc.

Are there such criteria for the screen and browser for mobile phones?

Look at what devices are used for Internet surfing (sorry for the Russian language, this site does not seem to have an English interface), but this is pretty clear) - you will probably be surprised how many people still use โ€œfunctional phonesโ€ with pretty small screens and Opera Mini (Java ME) for surfing. Although touchscreen smartphones (such as iPhones) are growing slowly, more than 50-60% of all mobile users still use fairly small screens and simple devices.

There are actually a bunch of shitty mobile phones that ship with rare browsers.

Its smarter to test the best mobile browsers instead of using the worst or oldest. Make them look great on iPhone and Android. Min res 320x480 (something below that is just not worth the trouble.)

And for the rest - they will gracefully (more or less) degrade.

For the functions of the most important mobile browsers, you can use http://caniuse.com/ or http://www.quirksmode.org/mobile/
