Does CRM 2011 support cross browser support? Or is Internet Explorer still required?
Edit 02/02/2013 . Cross-browser support starts with the CRM 2011 cumulative update package. Supported browsers are listed at http://support.microsoft. com / kb / 2784954
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2669061 for product support (CRM 4 / CRM 2011) and collapse.
Unfortunately, no browser other than IE is supported for the entire web client (for now). See Software Requirements for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web Access .
However, the "Mobile Express" interface included with Dynamics CRM 2011 is available with other browsers. Just add /m to your url like https://crm.foobar.org/m
/m
https://crm.foobar.org/m
IE is still needed, however you can use IE9 (which supports legacy).
Or you can do what I do, use Chrome, but use the IETab plugin (which mocks IE). Then I do not need to open 100,000 CRM windows.
Cross-browser support will not work until HTML 5 is used.
I think this is planned for CRM 2012 or CRM 6.
They mentioned this in a CRM statement about the direction you can read about here. http://crmbusiness.wordpress.com/2011/05/10/crm-statement-of-direction-crm-6-release-date-q2-2012/
