Backup / snapshot vm image (vhd) on windows azure

Question

I was wondering if anyone has any information on how to back up a vm image uploaded to the cloud. There is an opportunity to return to the original state. However, it would be very convenient if the picture was taken or if the VHD could be downloaded again.

Any input would be welcome.

This is Linux oriented, but there is more for Windows VM.

You can back up the blob VM VHD using the Blob API and then restore it, thereby overwriting the current VHD OS to an earlier version. I have not tried it myself, but the documents suggest this.
