I use eclipse kepler (CDT) in opensuse 12.3, and I also canβt create // at the beginning of the current line with Ctrl + /. However, Ctrl + Shift + 7 works because on my keyboard the '/' key must be entered as Shift + 7.
The solution for me was the simpler shorthand Ctrl + 7 installed by Windows | Preferences | General | Keys | Comment / Uncomment ... The downside is that Ctrl + 7 is a new abbreviation.
To comment on a text block, I first marked it and then used the shortcut Strg + Shift + 7, also installed by Windows | Preferences | General | Keys | Add block comment ...
Hope this helps you !?
