Resize RAM for Windows Mobile 5.0 emulator

I cannot change the memory size for the Windows Mobile 5.0 emulator. This is what I tried.

In Visual Studio 2008 Professional, I can try to resize the Emulator RAM by choosing Tools-> Options-> Devices Tools-> Devices. From there I select the device (I work with USA Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC R2 Emulator) and click the "Properties" → "Emulator Settings" button. I check the box Specify the size of RAM and change it to 256 and click OK → OK → OK.

This does not change anything. When I launch this emulator from Visual Studio, and then from inside the emulator, go to the Start menu → Settings → System →, it will display the following 2 summary values:

Storage: 31.42 MB

Program: 36.99 MB

In the emulator window, if I go to File → Configure ..., it shows that the RAM size is still set to 128, and yet, according to the emulator OS, in any case it will be less than 128. I know that I have there was this work before I switched from XP to Windows 7. I tried to clear the saved state before and after making the changes. I tried to make a soft and hard reset with the emulator.
