Changing default block widths in LaTeX Beamer

Question

I use a custom Beamer theme for my presentations. In my presentations, I would like to use blocks ( \begin{block}…\end{block}). These blocks are made too wide to fit my theme. Is there a way that I can set the default width of the blocks, for example. before .9\textwidth?
