How to Find the GSM Location Area Code and Cell ID for iPhone

Question

I want to know if the iPhone can find the LAC and cell id as indicated in android os.

How to find location area code to find device location, etc.

This is interesting to me because I need to determine the approximate location of the device even when location services are disabled .
