Example RSS feed link: http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/twitter.rss
Does anyone know if Twitter restricts calls to a public RSS feed? This does not use an API, but a simple URL call.
I can not find anything official (or even speculative). I know that the API has access restrictions for x requests for minutes. I'm wondering if public RSS feeds follow a similar pattern. I see the behavior in a mobile application, which makes me think that this may be so.
Device 1 receives a null response, while device 2 still receives updates for an identical feed. Also saw it from my computer, which runs the simulator. The simulator stopped receiving updates, then I could not pull the feed in a web browser on the same computer on which the simulator was running. I suspiciously that Twitter restricts access to the RSS feed on the device. I think this is because in the previous example, all RSS feeds were inaccessible from a web browser, while the Twitter site functioned correctly in the same web browser.
An RSS URL is requested every 10 minutes.
Any understanding is understood.
