Question from the interview: Are you familiar with Linux?

I came across this question a couple of times when people ask me if I am familiar with Linux. What does this usually mean? I know how to navigate the command line in Ubuntu, edit files, compile c programs, but I feel like I am only scratching the surface. Any tips on becoming a Linux guru? Thanks for any advice. I hope this question is not too subjective.

A strange question, it depends on why someone asks. There is no limit to the amount of things you can know about Linux, but it looks like you certainly know more than the average Joe from the street. I would say that you “know” Linux for most people, but be careful when saying this in LUG.
