Which files created with symfony should avoid editing?

Question

In the symfony structure, a large number of files are automatically generated at different stages of development. Some of these files are intended for manual editing and configuration, while others are designed to never (or very rarely) be edited manually, but instead be changed as a result of changes in other configuration or settings files.

What symfony files fit into this last category "to avoid manual editing"? I want to know, so I can exclude these files from version control. Another reason to know is simply to know which files I should avoid.
