Interview: how many photos were taken in one day

Recently I was asked this question in an interview "How many photos were taken in one day around the world . " I know him is vague, but I tried to ask the interviewer a lot of questions to get more information from him, but in the end, the interviewer asked me just to give me a number

My answer : 4 billion
Interviewer : Why?
Me : because I like the number "4 billion"
Interviewer : fell into a laugh

And then after he moved on to other issues

What is the interviewer trying to do from my answer and what could be the reason he asked?

In my opinion, such questions are a way to evaluate the ability of logic and think out of the box of the interviewee.

Here's another example: Australia's light bulb market , although this is for a different industry and therefore a higher level of expectation is the answer.

Bonus (not 100% related to the question): Another typical question for the QA position is how to check the elevator , and do not confuse it with the elevator test .
