Extracting math formulas from TeX / MetaFont

I used LaTeX. I used TexMacs.

What I want is to somehow be able to copy the "font / characters" from MetaFont, and then organize them myself (using an algorithm other than TeX).

This raises questions:

(1) What is the output format of MetaFont? (2) How can I get Tex / LaTeX / MetaFont to unload all the math symbols? (3) How can I get these mathematical formulas presented as some type of vector graphics (i.e. Curves), as well as statistics on charaters (baeline, width, height, ...)

Thank!
