I am not trying to create a social network here, but I am wondering how someone can create a high-performance social channel similar to Twitter or Facebook.
The problem that I see is that each post in the feed must have two search queries for one post, one to receive the “message” and one to receive the foreign key to which it refers. On a busy database server with millions of messages, this can slow down very quickly.
So, is there a better way to create a social flow?
