OK, I'm at a dead end .. yes, I already went to googled and this time, it looks like the first time Google failed me.
I have an ASP.Net Web Application project (acquired from a predecessor who loves rude algorithms and layoffs in his codes) and tried to open it in VS.NET 2003, where it was developed (well, actually, not on the same machine, on which it was developed.) The project is part of a larger solution consisting of other VB projects. When I first opened the inherited solution several years ago, I found that the error prevented me from opening the indicated web project ... I will simply ignore it because the project is not so important before. Now that the project has to be saved, I think it's time for me to get my hands dirty.
This is my first time when I started a web application project, so I expected something was wrong:
Visual Studio.NET found that the specified web server was not running ASP.NET 1.1. You will not be able to run web applications or ASP.NET services.
Right With the help of reliable Google, I tried my efforts in the following (but, as I said, this time it failed me):
- Uninstall .NET framework 1.1
- Reinstall .Net framework 1.1
- Further, KB 306005 , which states:
aspnet_regiis.exe -i - Tried switches
-u, -ua, -cand -enableforaspnet_regiis.exe - Restart IIS
- Removed folder for framework 1.0
reloading and / or retrying between the items above, but I still get the same error.
