If you plan to do this in Winforms, I would suggest switching to WPF.
I have been / and am currently in the same situation, I am building a LOB for a client with a very high profile.
I made win-layouts, then realized that I needed the right structure, I looked around and didn't find much, and tried to write my own MVC framework, which was a terrifying mess.
