The role of a set of tests and tests in building a decision tree and its use for classification

I have been working weka for a couple of months now. I am currently working on my machine learning course here at Estfall University College. I need a better way to build a decision tree based on shared sets for training and testing. Anyone who comes up with a good idea can help a lot. Thanx in advance.
