Make index.html show instead of Default.aspx?

Question

We are working on an aspx site that we would like not to show to users until we are ready to launch. By default, Default.aspx has more "power" over my index.html file. All I would like to do is show index.html by default and when working on the site we can go to Default.aspx and work from there.

This is an IIS setting.

In IIS 7 or later, use the Document Default Tool. In IIS 6 or lower, use the Default Documents tab.
