Configure GWT compiler to use less memory?

I am trying to create a large Maven-GWT project on a virtual host that has limited RAM and cannot use swap space.

At the GWT compilation stage (where it computes the permutations), a huge amount of CPU and memory is used, and I was wondering if it was possible in any way to impose a limit on how many of them it used, even if it took a lot longer to compile.
