My goal is to stream from a webcam to a server and then to users. The webcam will have a very slow download speed, and I want this stream to be downloaded once to the remote server on a denser connection, which is then transmitted to the end user.
There are external processing sites such as ustream, but I am looking for a solution that can be hosted on a standard linux server, without any external providers.
This is not like QuickTime or Flash really has a mechanism for this, although QuickTime has a good client / server package if the client is a Mac.
