Android: should I start a new activity or show a dialog?

Let's say I want my application to display a file browser. Are there significant advantages or disadvantages that this file browser extends Dialog instead of the Activity extension? I could not find anything useful in the documentation; any input?

thank

Honestly, all about user experience. Therefore, if they are just going to select a file and what it is, then I would recommend using a dialog. If you want him to do much more than just select a file and then disappear, then be sure to open it in a new action.
