I have a site with a restricted login area.

After user registration, he can access the files of my company (large file)

But to avoid spreading the link all over the Internet when a user wants to download a file located on an external URL: he clicks on the URL that will contain the name of the file encrypted in md5, which will be redirected to the php script that will be generated in php , download headers using fsockopen.

However, this does not support resuming downloads, which is not very practical when we download somes files of 2 or 3 gb or when you use the bootloader.

How can I do to enable renewal? I saw some php scripts using the fread method, however I don't think that would be a good idea in my case, because for large files this could make the server lag. When you do progressive fread on 2gb files, good luck for the process when they have 30 file downloads, meanwhile.

If you use fopen()and fseek()like this , you essentially do the same as any web server to respond to RANGE HTTP Requests.
