An element Pivotuses the angle specified in the FlickEventArgsevent Flickto determine how to navigate through the elements. An angle of 180 degrees means navigation to the right, an angle of 0 degrees means navigation to the left.
If you want to detect this in your own code, you can use the Windows Phone ToolkitGestureService from Silverlight , as described in this article, or you can simply track the property SelectedIndexin the control Pivotto determine how the user clicked.
