Are files uploaded with the hg clone deleted?

In our Mercurial repo, we added a really large file (and made hg push), and then deleted the large file (and made another click).

Now, if someone does hg clone, will he still pull out this large file? I know that it will not appear in the working directory since it was deleted, but will the file still be uploaded and stored in the internal memory of Mercurial?

I would like people to not have to pull out the file. I found out that really large files should be stored outside of Mercurial, so I deleted the file. But I was wondering if people would still dump a large file - in this case, I think I am rebuilding the repository from scratch.
