I took a backup of akeeba and moved it to a new server - on the site where it exists, there is an “enter page” that uses plain html, and then joomla is installed in a folder called “site”, so its mydomain.com/site Joomla root. The new server does not have a domain to which it simply points to ip with the username, so public html http: //xxx.xxx.xx.xx/~user/
so I put my 700mb backup in the folder http: //xxx.xxx.xx.xx/~user/site (without ssh you can imagine how long it took) put the kickstart files in there db was installed on the new server, which ran kickstart.php with default settings (empty site URL) and tries to set the site URL (http: //xxx.xxx.xx.xx/~user/site) in both directions the akeeba / kickstart backup passed without a hitch - I go to the default site, and it looks fine. I really wonder how easy it was, but if I click on a page or on another page, I get 404.
If I run the same backup on the local host, the menus do not load at all, so I don’t know what that means. I have very limited experience with Joomla. Basically, this is the guy from Wordpress - any ideas why the installation and the site are working fine, but am I getting these 404?
