Android Transparent png does not appear as transparent

Question

I use an image with transparency like ImageButton in my Android app, but when it appears on the Android screen, it still has a whitish surrounding border.

I even changed the image to one of the supplied templates and is still not transparent (although it is in Photoshop). Is there some kind of declaration or something else missing?

I tried both in the emulator and on my phone, and its displays are displayed as white on a black background.

Whitish color. It is part of the image button button :)

Use a regular button and set your image as an android: its background. Do not set the text.
