Android, change phone profile

I would like to change the profile of the phone, for example, switch from vibrator mode to normal or even to flat mode. I cannot find anything in the list of permissions to allow this type of change. Is it possible?

This is done using AudioManager . Refer to the developer guide and this will help you to some extent.
