Say we have a website that responds to the header of the kebab-shop.intra.net site
Is it possible to have both SOAP and RESTful URLs in this?
That is, both of them are processed inside the deployed code.
kebab-shop.intra.net/takeaway.asmxkebab-shop.intra.net/kebab/get/...
I was told that this could not be done without much explanation. Like this answer . It may be, I'm the monkey of the database, but I would like to reflect on what options I make or do not have.
Thoughts still
- Separate host headers, e.g. add
kebab-shop-rest.intra.net - Separate websites
Ideally, I would like to have one website, one URL domain name , one host header. Zero probability?
This is IIS 6 with .net 4. And we have some big corporate restrictions, which means that we are limited to a zip file in order to get to the corresponding folder used by the website. This is designed to enable our customers to migrate without experiencing much corporate support, infrastructure, or deployment costs. Coexistence will only be for a month or three.
Edit: I ask because I am not a web developer. If my conditions are wrong, that’s why ...
So ... I want both SOAP and REST kebab-shop.intra.neton IIS 6 without complexity.
