Sharing folders between alfresco instances?

Is it possible for multiple instances of Alfresco to have one shared folder in the repository tree? How to install it?

Alfresco does not allow folder sharing as you ask. You can split the entire repository into multiple instances, which will be the cluster configuration .

Starting with version 3.4, Alfresco has a replication service that you can use to replicate folder structures from one repository to another. There is currently not a lot of user interface for the replication service, and this is a really new feature, so I'm not sure if it will work for you.

Before you can configure replication to the destination server, you need to create a transfer definition for this server. See the online help for more information: http://www.alfresco.com/help/34/community/sharehelp/tasks/adminconsole-replication-create.html . The online help also contains quite a few bits of the replication interface, so it’s worth reading - look in the "Sharing Console" section, then "Managing Replication Jobs"
