I have a requirement, and I'm not sure if I should use Analysis Services or Reporting Services or any other technique.
My client wants to show special offers from the database on his website. They want to target users, i.e. If the user is from the UK; shows for the UK and in pounds. if the user is from Canada; trade shows for Canada and the Canadian dollar, etc.
There are several tables in their database, loaded from 1 to 2 million records in each table. Each table is intended for a different product category and the currency and the Country column are used for filtering. I can not restructure their scheme, because they have a huge number of developments for integration with various business applications.
I need a solution that includes a data warehouse, can quickly retrieve data and cache it for the next 12 or 24 hours (don't want to cache on a web server). I do not have much experience in Analysis and Reporting services, so I need your solution / proposal and everything that you can share with your good or bad experience.
