How to make a nickname for MKOverlay Region?

Question

I used the gesture recognizer and boundingRect for this overlay to determine when the user clicks on it. However, now I would like to make a callout over the overlay area that the user deletes, just like you do for annotations. Should I create annotation overlays for this? Thank.

Overlays are also objects of annotation, if you like.
