No Maintenance Android Emulator

I am new to Android and Android development, so I am not familiar with this.

When I run the emulator, I have no service. Therefore, I do not have an internet connection on the emulator.

I am running Windows 7, and I am generally launching the emulator through eclipse. My host computer is connected to the Internet through a local network. Proxy does not exist.

I tried:

  • Disabling all network adapters, except for the local network [ link ]
  • Starting the emulator from the cmd line with: emulator -avd -dns-server 8.8.8.8
  • Reinstalling SDK 9 tools and platform tools (rev 2).
  • Rebooting the machine !: P
Is there a need to configure to simulate a 3G connection? Or could it be a Windows 7 permissions issue? Or am I doomed like these people: link link

Oh! found a solution .. I removed the entire SDK and reinstalled it on C: / Android. I deleted the folder C: / Users / [your-name] /. Android and recreated avd. Voila .. Something worked there!

[edit] It actually looks like you should continue to restart the emulator until it connects. I often don't get any maintenance, so I restart a bunch of times until it works.
