Visualize vector graphics in Java, which library?

Question

I need to visualize large vector graphics. This is a map of roads, roads are just lines. Is there a library for this? It would be nice if this library had support for scaling / reduction and it would be easy to expand. For instance. to implement the choice of roads or some nice effects with the mouse. The license must permit use in a commercial project.

Edit: Is there a reason not to go with Graphics2D or SWT Graphics? (The project is in SWT and does not contain any SVG.)
