Drupal 7 newbie question: Node Access Permissions = Disabled?

I have been working in D6 for a long time, and now I am just lowering myself to D7. I have a basic installation running on my server, and everything is fine; the only thing I don’t understand is whether I need to worry that admin / reports / status tells me that Node Access Permissions are disabled. I understand that NAP is nothing new for D7, and I had to rebuild permissions once or twice in the past. But the new admin page causes an explicitly disabled status, so now I'm wondering about things that I haven't asked about before:

  • What does it mean for them to be disconnected (I am registered as user 1, if that matters)?

  • Should I try to reconfigure the system or my server to turn them on? What would I win by turning them on?

Thank!

Everything should be perfect.

This means that you are not using any module that declares node permissions, so that all nodes are visible to users with permission to view content.

I don’t know if this is fine, but on my site drupal, since I updated to 7.2 (this is a security update), spammers can create new users (even if they are reserved for administrators now and only for 2 administrators was not included system between them), create dozens of spam HTML links every day!

This is what the status report says:

Node , , . . , . .

, , .
