EDIT: This was resolved thanks to: http://www.brimllc.com/2010/12/magento-grouped-products-containing-associated-configurable-products/
The guy who works on this blog is very, very helpful. Now we can add custom products to a grouped product. The problem is solved.
I am trying to make something very simple, but I can’t figure out how to do it.
We have a Magento store that sells underwear. Tops and bottoms, each of which has its own size.
Thus, the customer can order the upper part in small and lower environments.
At the front end, I need the client to see:
The product's name
Top: S, M, L (drop down menu) Bottom: S, M, L (drop down menu)
I just can’t figure out how to do this in the Magento admin. Each product is introduced as a simple product with the attribute "size": "Small", for example.
But when I create a custom product and select the “sizes_tops” and “sizes_bottoms” attributes, it allows me to select only those products that have been defined, so obviously this will not work.
How do I do it simply in Magento?
We could also have a situation where there are two types of bottom to choose from, such as full and g-string.
If there were no restrictions on adding simple products to a custom product, and only one of the specified attributes would be configured (I think, anyway).
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
