Perhaps a port? (gloomy fandandroido)

The dream is to run Grim fandango on my android, And I came across a "residual" (http://residual.sourceforge.net/this application in C ++) and someone who ran it on their nokia n900 (http: / /www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO9a5nTMHYI).

So for the question, will this be possible for Android? My initial thought was debian and ubuntu support, and my Android was faster than the n900, why not?

So, before I spend days / weeks learning and working on my android, I thought it would be nice to ask people who really know about these things, if even possible. And maybe how much it will actually be, in my head this is currently:

  • highlight Android.mk
  • try to compile and fix errors while they work.

Which (if I don't get to many mistakes) doesn't sound complicated.

Any thoughts are welcome, thanks for reading!

I would say that your goal is quite feasible.

Residual seems to rely on standard C ++ libraries as well as OpenGL and SDL. For the latter, there are actually several Android SDL ports that you can use.

Someone familiar with Android and NDK can probably get Residual in a somewhat reproducible state in a few days (the correct port will take a lot more time). If you are new to this platform, you should be prepared to spend several weeks learning the basics of developing your own Android applications before solving this project.
