IPhone icon without number icon

I saw 1 answer to this question, but was a solution for app icons. I am looking to create an icon for a homepage icon without a number. It will be just a red dot.

No open API allows you to set a blank icon for your application icon. You can specify only a number, not a space or any other character.

Check out this open source custom icon . The website is in German (I think), but the project is English. This is a solution that you can simply leave out the number of the actual icon, and you can adjust the size of the actual icon as well as the color.
