Code Comparison Software

Question

I have two directories with hundreds of PHP files in each. The second directory was copied from the first and worked as a "bad" version control method. The problem is that we do not know which files were necessarily changed (the programmer did not provide any notes), and if they were, then what was changed.

I have seen software that can compare the difference in two separately known text files, but I'm looking for something that can read all the files in directories (say PHP) and compare them.

Does anyone know something that might help?

I am currently running all my code in XAMPP setup on a computer running Windows XP.
