I am developing an iPad application that will be distributed internally through membership in a corporate program. However, "internal" funds are distributed in various places around the world.
The binary itself will be universal for all content located around the world. However, the contents (SQLite DB file) will vary between devices. One iPad in the UK has English content file for the product, while another in France has French content for downloading another product.
The plan is to send your content to different client addresses so that they can connect their devices to iTunes, install (or update, it is important!) The application, and then copy the SQLite DB file to the device.
Can we do this and how will it work? What are the limitations?
Valid answers should include the following:
- Confirmation and description of how you can synchronize a SQLite content file
- Confirmation and description / resource on how the distribution will work.
I found one somewhat related question:
Distributing database updates for an iPhone application without downloading the entire database
