Here is a short description: I use iWebKit to display a webpage in a full-screen iPhone app. When you do this, you acquire real estate, but lose the navigation buttons. I can put buttons that act as forward / backward on the page and return this feature. This is desirable since I can place other content on the same line as the buttons (for example, the home button and title)
I would like to be able to control the display of these javascript-enabled buttons back and forth, depending on whether there really is a next or previous page. For example, if there is no next page, the next button may or may not be available. If I cannot control how the buttons are displayed, they can be interactive, but without effect. This can lead to user confusion.
In conclusion, I want to know if there is any data that may actually be available, which will tell me if there is a next page in history. And, for that matter, the previous page. history.nextHidden from my reading for security reasons. history.forward()and history.go(1)seem useful only as ways to navigate to pages, rather than checking if these pages exist. history.length() tells you how many pages in history, but AFAIK, you cannot understand where you are in this queue.
Is there any way to check if there is the next page in the browser history?
