I’m a mobile application developer, and for about 2 weeks I have been learning how to stream video on iPhone using some kind of server, but so far I have not been successful. I have an iPhone app ready to receive streaming using the class MPMoviePlayerController.
Here are my requirements:
I have a live .FLV feed channel URL for some news feeds. I want to transfer this server-side encoding software to a supported iPhone format for streaming to my iPhone program.
I used VLC to stream on the iPhone, but it does not work. I used the nightly version of version 1.2 of the VLC that they advertise has a streaming iPhone, but it still doesn't work.
I tried using VLC for Wowza and then for iPhone. It somehow worked after coding through VLC and segmentation and streaming through Wowza to the iPhone, but the trial version only supports streaming for up to 3 minutes, so it is useless to give a demo to my client.

I bought a TV tuner and I have an analog cable network. I want to insert this cable connection into the TV tuner board, and then use some software, such as VLC, to stream the channel to the iPhone for most of the channels I receive.
I basically want to transfer via any of the above methods to iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices. Since Blackberry and Android support RTSP streaming, I have no particular difficulties - I can just use VLC to stream all channels at a time. However, a big headache arises for streaming iPhone http.
What server software is available for streaming on iPhone, Android and Blackberry? What software can I buy for my business purposes that will allow either point 1 or point 2?
