Synchronize two databases with phpmyadmin - what is a “socket” for this operation?

I want to synchronize two databases (one on my local host and one on my server) using phpmyadmin (on my server), and I have to fill in a configuration field called "socket".

this is for a unix socket on the local machine, by default it is /tmp/mysql.sock, but you can check it with the netstat -a | grep mysql to find out which one works on your computer.
